AbstractIn the hyperspectral data the spectra quality has a great influence in the endmenber search process that can be done by several methods presented in the literature. The spectral quality is mainly related with the spectral mixture and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In this work both spectral mixture and the noise are simulated in order to evaluate the endmember search process that was performed in this study by the maximum Entropy method. It was considered three data set of hiperspectral data, one of them with very similar pure spectral samples (green vegetation with different evolutionary stages and / or different species), and other with different kinds of pure spectral samples (vegetation, soil and water) and the last with similar and different mixed spectral samples. In all set of samples it was consider the noise effect with several SNR values. The spectra mixture was done by the combinations of abundances in a linear spectral mixture model, it was also used several values of abundances in order to simulate different kinds and intensity of contamination. Nine selected spectra from the AVIRIS sensor was used as pure spectra and to generate the mixture spectra with controlled SNR.
